			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>28<sup>th</sup> November, 2007 Dubai: Mekar, the Italian manufactures of Air Handling Units (AHU) and Fan Coil Units (FCU) has opened its Middle East regional office and warehousing facility in the UAE. The brand has been installed in iconic projects in Dubai including Burj Dubai, Burj Al Arab, Dubai Mall amongst several others.</p>
<p>Mr. Giuseppe Boaro, President of Mekar, Italy made this announcement on the occasion of the Big 5 Show, where the company is displaying its wide range of air conditioning equipment. Boaro said, &#8220;This move is essential due to the growing demand for Mekar airside equipments and its increasing popularity for iconic projects. We are setting up our own central warehousing and distribution facility in the UAE to meet our clients&#8217; mounting requirements and at the same time provide efficient support to our distributors in the region Royal Gulf. Mekar has plans to increase its market penetration in Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait through this office.&#8221;</p>
<p>Mekar&#8217;s AHUs and FCUs have been installed in more than 150 prestigious projects in the UAE including iconic projects ‘The Burj Tower&#8217; slated to be the tallest tower in the world and the Burj Al Arab Hotel - the only seven star Hotel in the world.</p>
<p>Reiterating the business philosophy of Mekar, he stated, &#8220;We stand by quality and deliver what we promise. This philosophy has paid us rich dividends over the years and is evidenced by the fact that Mekar has developed a strong client portfolio and these clients have been consistently doing business with us. 150 projects where Mekar equipment has been installed have withstood the climatic conditions of the Middle  East over the last 15 years proving Mekar&#8217;s reliability.&#8221;<br />

<p>A qualified chartered accountant and a Finance Professional, he had his career in leading multinational corporations in India, UK and the UAE. His entreprenership skills and his passion for business laid the foundation for Koohiji Group. His vision in the early 1980&#8217;s has taken wings from being a trading house to a leading corporate in the region. Known for his leadership and management skills, he takes a local as well global point of view.  Today Koohiji enterprise is  transnational with direct presence in several countries and holds the record for achieving several feats at the regional and global level.</p>
<p><strong>Arun Tuli - Managing Director, Mekar  Air Handling Units </strong></p>
<p>A qualified Chartered Accountant, Arun has worked with leading corporations   in the Middle East region.  He has played roles as a Finance Professional and  also as a  Business Development  Manager  in  Al Futtaim group  and MMI  group of companies respectively. With a wealth of knowledge in financial management coupled with experience in setting up new business ventures, he has spear headed Royal Gulf to become one of the leading distributor for HVAC products in the UAE. In his last assignment as Managing Director of Royal Gulf, he developed strategic business alliances with key Principals. During his tenure he helped establish an illustrious list of project references for Royal Gulf - notable among them the Burj  Towers which is slated to be the World&#8217;s tallest tower.</p>
<p><strong>Neal Barros - General Manager, Globalnet</strong></p>
<p>A qualified engineer in Electrical and Electronics from the reputed BITS - Pilani he earned his Post graduate degree in Business Management. Associated with Globalnet since 1997 he swiftly moved up the ladder to head the Business Unit. Instrumental in devising and adapting Business models in line with the business goals agreed by Globalnet and Motorola. Adept at operating under the vagaries of the telecom market, he was the driving force behind a record sale of 3.5 million handsets with a turnover of USD 206 million. His contribution helped Globalnet rank amongst Motorola&#8217;s top 10 distributors worldwide.</p>
<p><strong>Pramod K</strong><strong>attel - General Manager, Technocare (Global Customer Care)</strong></p>
<p>A graduate in Electrical Engineering, he has to his credit over 10 years of rich experience in the Middle East. As a leading authority on customer care in the emerging market region he has been responsible for Technocare&#8217;s numerous milestones and awards. His key contribution includes strong sales &amp; business development. Having been with the Group since 2005 he has cultivated trust of key principals in matters of customer care.</p>
<p><strong>Prasad YSCV - General Manager, Koohiji Trading </strong></p>
<p>A graduate and a PG Diploma holder in Computer Science he has over 15 years of experience.  He has served leading Companies in India such as Sterling Resorts and JTM Telecom (now part of Airtel) holding several key sales/ marketing positions handling Office Automation products(Panasonic, Canon, Minolta), Leisure Concept Selling, Fire safety products, Telecom. <p><strong>Siddu R C - Deputy General Manager, Royal Gulf<br />
</strong><br />
A B.E. graduate in Mechanical Engineering with over 14 years experience in engineering, sales and managerial functions. Starting his career with Klenzaids, Mumbai, India he was responsible for validation and certification of key facilities in pharmaceutical industry, bio-technology and nuclear laboratories. Associated with Royal Gulf since 1996 he was responsible for establishing HVAC brands like Mekar, Decsa, Dunham Bush, Wesper and Novovent.</p>
<p><strong>N.R. </strong><strong>Venkatesh - Head, Group Finance</strong></p>
<p>A qualified Chartered Accountant, worked with Business houses of repute  - both India and UAE. With over 20 years of experience he had strategic roles and has supported the top management under varying capacities in leading companies like Wipro, Al Futtaim. Apart from his core skills in Financial Management, he is experienced in ERP/ SAP implementation and has guided the Group&#8217;s  SBUs during the business successes in the recent years.</p>
<p><strong>Pritvi Rajkumar - Corporate Development</strong></p>
<p>Pritvi Rajkumar brings in over 7 years of experience in finance, business development and business operations. A Bachelor of Science in Economics in Finance and Information Systems from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, he has recently been retained by Koohiji Group to provide various consulting services to the Group.</p>
<p>Prior to his engagement with Koohiji Group he served as Vice President and Minority Partner at GPX Enterprises, L.P. - a private investment firm focused on the sponsorship, development and management of select private equity and venture capital investments. At GPX, he lead several private equity initiatives in several industries including communications, software and real estate. He previously served as Director of Corporate Development at ATX Communications, Inc. handling product development, key contract negotiations and mergers and acquisitions.  Some  of his initiatives at ATX transformed into significant profits for the company.

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Koohiji Trading LLC, the distributor for Panasonic telecom products and a part of the Dubai based Koohiji Group, has scooped the Panasonic Best Distributor Award for 2006 for its IP based PBX systems in the Middle East and Africa region. The Award represents an unanimous mandate by Panasonic’s global distributors and celebrates the creative marketing and value added customer service initiatives by Koohiji.</p>
<p>Presenting the trophy to the vice chairman and CEO of the Koohiji Group S.S. Rajkumar and Koohiji Trading&#8217;s General Manager, YCSV Prasad, Kazuyoshi Fujiyoshi, President, Panasonic Communications Company (PCC) said: “It is a matter of pride to work with a professional and dynamic company such as Koohiji, who has been our key partner for the last 18 years. With its numerous initiatives in the past year for our IP based PBX systems, Koohiji has helped set new benchmarks for our distributors worldwide. It has broadened their vision by providing new ideas and tools to achieve success in this relatively new, but extremely important emerging product for the IP era”.</p>

<p>This new venture will enable UAE and MENA region users to gain legitimate ccess to digital entertainment content on their mobile phones. The range of content available from Digital City will include all kinds of ring tones including poly tones and ring back tones, MMS or still and animated images, theme wallpapers, screensaver, games, applications, News updates, video and audio clips, and interactive content including movie trailers, synopses, reviews and previews.</p>
<p>Digital City also provides value added services like Caller Ring Back Tone (CRBT) platforms, Voice Platforms, SMS &amp; MMS Gateways and other specialized services.</p>
<p>The venture would provide digital content to Motorola phones by Globalnet – our group venture, as a value addition and thereby offering a product differentiator. It also manages the Hellomoto shop for Motorola through which every Motorola handset user can download content over web and wap. This service is in a roll-out phase and will cover the Middle East region, Africa and Turkey. A project of such magnitude has never been attempted in this region before.</p>

The company has led several training, marketing &amp; sales efforts to promote Panasonic and today we are proud to have contributed to Panasonic’s current market leadership position in the region.</p>
<p>We have implemented several firsts for Panasonic in the region, notable among them include establishment of the first ever Panasonic Telecom Concept Centre with a state-of-the-art showroom and service centre. As a strong believer in our values, we have developed trust and mutual co-operation with our retail partners end consumers and our principals – Panasonic Communications Company, Japan.</p>
<p>The 60-member strong team believes in constant pursuit of excellence and to reach this level the team is supported by the Group with relevant training programs for our trade partners and personal development programs on an ongoing basis.</p>
